Santana is a northeastern small town of Madeira, privileged not only for its localization, but also for all its surroundings, such as:
Its mountain peaks, the highest of which is Pico Ruivo (1862 m), the highest one in the region from where one can see the overhelming landscape of Santana and parts of the whole island;
Its Laurissilva Forest, a valuable and recognized natural heritage, classified as World Natural Heritage by UNESCO where one can enjoy its amazing lanscapes as well as its paths, along which one can listen to the harmony of birds chants which are part of the endemic and indigenous bird life of Madeira and it is so rewardind to have them free and showing off all the time to pedestrians.
